Scotland 2030 Programme: the environmental context

June 2017 at the Scottish Parliament

Scotland's environment shapes its society and culture. From the rugged, dramatic mountains and glens of the Highlands to the fertile arable terrain of Lowland Scotland, our surroundings have determined and defined our lives in many ways - and yet as humans we can have a massive effect on our environment. What will Scotland physically look like in 2030? How will climate change affect our surroundings, our communities, our lives? What are we doing and can we do to prepare now for the future?

The Scotland 2030 programme continues with a discussion of our environment and how it affects and may affect our society and culture. More information to follow; for more background, visit the Scotland 2030 project page.

The event is open to MSPs and invited guests. If you are interested in attending, please email ScotlandsFuturesForum@parliament.scot for more details.
